In simple words, if the concentration of the phosphodiesterase type 5 enzyme increases then the concentration of the oxytoxin is decreased. Thus, the sexual stimulation is lacking in many men during the sexual intercourse. Generic Viagra is found to be promising drug that inhibits the production of enzyme, phosphodiesterase type 5. Sildenafil, the main constituent of generic Viagra, plays a vital role by blocking phosphodiesterase type 5 enzyme, essentially releasing the brakes.. Generic Viagra relaxes smooth muscle around the blood vessels and increases blood flow, which corrects erectile dysfunction. In the posterior pituitary, the cells become more responsive by the inhibition of phosphodiesterase type 5 enzyme. Hence, the production of oxytoxin is increased and men get the sexual stimulation. It is said by the researchers that Viagra will not induce the release of oxytocin on its own, but it will enhance the amount of release you get in response to electrical stimulation. Although, sildenafil’s effects on oxytoxin-sensitive pathways are still unknown, other researchers work has shown that oxytocin-sensitive cells in the brain play a role in the neural control of erectile responses, suggesting that Viagra and its kin may work through multiple channels. Thus, it was proved that generic Viagra boosts the sex stimulating hormone.
