As Britain falls deep into a bottomless recession, debt advice keeps coming thick and fast. It is important to look through the all the advice and find out which piece of information is relevant for you. Everyone is going to be affected by the recession in one way or another, making it vital to stay on top of things.

This article debt management for young adults and managing your overdraft in this chaotic time, making sure you don't slip into debt you can't afford. An overdraft can be a very dangerous entity, one that can lead you into trouble. With most overdrafts been valued at £200 or more there is a real chance of accumulating a heavy debt. If money is low and you are struggling to afford necessity's or other items, your overdraft may seem a good option. As the money doesn't have to be paid back straight away, it may seem like there is an endless amount of time in order to pay back the money. However, it is important that you do have a constant source of income at the time in which case you know that you will be able to pay the money back eventually. If there is no source of income, you can't rely on payments such as a student loan and you should be wary before starting to spend your overdraft.

For those who do not work it is no good pinning your hopes on getting a job. With the recession in full flow the amount of people looking for jobs has tripled. For full-time or even part-time work the amount of applicants for a single position is vast. With so many people competing for one vacancy there is no guarantee that you will even get to the interview stage. For this reason it is crucial that no one starts eating into their overdraft assuming that work and therefore money, is on its way.

The key thing to remember is not to spend money that you do not have, even if it may seem that you have exhausted all your options. Debt management is a hard thing to control and therefore it is crucial to keep records of all your ins and outs and make a financial plan. Don't let your overdraft catch you out.
