Right handling, tools, and cleaning materials are important to ensure a successful framing application. When framing with acrylic sheet some points must be taken care of like, always match the type of acrylic sheet to the application. For example, acrylic sheet for framing comes in clear, non-glare, and ultra UV-resistant grades, some also offers enhanced mar and static resistance. It must be chosen with great deal of experience. Try to leave the masking in place when cutting acrylic sheet. Every time score and break to make straight cuts in thin sheet. Try scoring several times, depending on the sheet thickness. Always position the scribed line face up over a ¾-inch dowel running the length of the sheet. Push with the help of your hands on either side of the scribe. Do reposition hands about two inches behind the break as it progresses down the scribed line.

For the removal of masking, start at one corner and peel back. After then wrap the corner around a dowel and roll off the remaining masking. Thoroughly clean acrylic sheet with materials specifically formulated for that purpose. Do not use glass cleaning sprays, abrasive compounds, or common solvents. Try to use a plastic polish and soft cloth to remove minor scratches. Always neutralize static electricity with an ionizing air gun whenever possible. Or use an air gun to remove dust, which might scratch the sheet, and then wipe using a lint-free, soft cloth with an anti-static cleaner. As you need to glue sheets of acrylic together, like when making an acrylic case, or possibly a reservoir for water, there's a really simple recipe for some insanely strong glue: break some left-over acrylic into small pieces (coin size) and put them in a metal jar of some sort. Decant acetone over the acrylic pieces, not too much, no more than to cover the acrylic. Lay a lid on the jar, and leave it for approx. 48 hours. And when you open up the lid again you will have some really nice acrylic glue, which seems to hold up really well. Research and development indicates that a little glue, on a small piece of acrylic, gluing another piece in a 90 degree angle, holds up to stress astonishingly well.
